FAMILY SERVICES/ PRESERVATION
TARGET POPULATIONS
1. TANF/WFNJ eligible families in actual or imminent crisis, usually involving homelessness due to eviction, transience or domestic violence.
2. TANF/WFNJ dysfunctional families in need of direct, purchased or arranged services to stabilize the living situation.
3. TANF/WFNJ eligible families in need of concrete, usually purchased, services to meet the goal of employment.
SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS/SERVICES
1. EARLY PERIODIC SCREENING DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT (EPSDT)
A Medicaid funded program provided to all Medicaid eligible children under 21 years of age which offers a complete medical screening, diagnosis and appropriate treatment of health problems.
2. FAMILY PLANNING
A Medicaid funded program provided to all Medicaid eligible parents and their adolescent and teenage children which provides information about, referral to and arrangement of requested family planning services.
3. CHILD DAY CARE
A IVA funded program for TANF/WFNJ eligible children (pre-schoolers and children needing after-school care) who require care either in their own home, in a family day care setting or at a day care center because of emotional, social or medical reasons.
4. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
A IVA funded program for TANF/WFNJ eligible families who are in a state of homelessness or who are imminently homeless and who have not had a realistic capacity to plan for emergency. The assistance provided includes, where appropriate, emergency shelter and food, payment of retroactive rent, clothing and furniture, and, when needed, the provision of security and utility deposits, and temporary rental assistance to assure a permanent living arrangement.
5. EMERGENCY CHILD CARE
A IVA funded program for TANF/WFNJ eligible children whose parent(s) is, for some reason (such as hospitalization), out of the home temporarily. Child care is arranged and purchased either in the child's own home or at the home of a relative.
6. RETURN OF CHILD FROM FOSTER CARE
A IVA funded program to help an TANF/WFNJ eligible family reestablish itself as a family unit when a child is returned to the home by the Division of Youth and Family Services. In such cases payment may be made for security/utility deposits, and the purchase of furniture and clothing to ensure the health and safety of the family unit.
7. MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
A Medicaid funded program to purchase transportation services for Medicaid eligible families in need of medical care.
8. TANF/WFNJ WORK PROGRAM
A program which provides employment related services to TANF/WFNJ eligible parents who are considered mandatory participants. BCBSS is responsible for providing case management services which includes, but is not limited to, the initial and ongoing assessment of each participant's required work activities and need for support services, and the brokerage and payment for services such as transportation needed by the participant to engage in work-related activities.
