RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
POPULATION SERVICES
1. Residents of rooming houses, boarding homes and residential health care facilities needing protection because of abuse, neglect or exploitation.
2. Residents who need placement in a facility or transfer from one facility to another offering a higher level of care.
3. Residents who need transfer to another facility because they reside in a facility which has been cited for violations and may be closed.
4. Residents requiring services ancillary to those provided by the facility and who do not have the resources or ability to arrange such services on their own.

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS/SERVICES
1. BCBSS social workers are mandated to respond to all complaints made by a resident or on behalf of a resident who is in an abusive, neglectful or exploitive situation. Findings of these investigations are reported to the appropriate licensing entity (Department of Community Affairs or the Department of Health). Follow-up services are offered as necessary to ensure the health and safety of the resident.
2. BCBSS social workers provide outreach and follow up services to residents of all facilities on a periodic basis. These services include but are not limited to: case management, placement services, counseling and the arrangement of medical and/or social services available in the community.
